marlene poppy discolorating

Hi, I'm having a great blooming spring here in zone 4B, but had a nasty experience with my Marlene oriental poppy. I've had her maybe 5 years and have had few blooms. This year with all the cool and moisture she made several flowers. I haven't seen enough flowers on her over the years to really judge what colour she will be for me. I expected a reddish pink of sorts. But., only one flower turned out pinkish. The others were orangy-red with some stripes shall I say, of pink. I contacted the company I purchased from and they said it was "some sort of stress". The only stress was a cool spring. Has anyone else grown Marlene? Have they had this orangy-red coloration happen? What color does she normally show for you?
