My custom wood table manufacturer instructs me to use a slightly damp rag. If it doesn't evaporate immediately, it's too wet.

If all you do is want to dust, then use a feather duster (ostrich is best). These are what I use in my store. Better than any cloth, and much faster, too.

Following suggestions I read long ago, here's what I do. Wet your hands under the faucet. Wipe them dry with the clean, dry dust cloth. Do not repeat. The cloth should be BARELY damp. Dust your wood furniture.
