Length of the table does not change the width of a round chandelier..only go by the depth side to side..40” it should really only be half that 20” but can go a bit bigger if in a very large room...for length of linear chandelier it should be 2/3rds of 72” the length of table.....that’s 48”...an extra leaf only makes table longer not wider...and with 8’ ceiling a 30” round will look to big...and the room is only 9x14.

I was going to say 28” but 30” should look nice for a round lighting fixture is five inches across the table on each side going to hurt and will 20.5” space hurt from each end? You’re going to tell me I should go by what that says when so many Designer’s post different formulas. I’ve always known spacing between light and is supposed to be 30-34”. Now for this eight foot ceiling that means it should only be 28.4” height for the light, When this sample is giving you for 11’ 4.6 more inches for when it should be a little more longer? I’m not going by that.

ok..table is 30” tall...light should hang 32” from table..so that is 62” subtract that from the 8’ ceiling so 96”-62” =34” but you need chain or rod to drop light down...so About 8-10” of chain that leaves about 24” for the light fixture height not counting chair or rod...

that 11’ foot is and example you have to do the math...don’t understand what you are made about? up To the homeowner I guess....remember this space is only 9’ wide

Claire you have to remember my post is for the home owner to take into consideration I am not posting it for you..you can give whatever formula you want...this is how I determine light fixture sizes for my clients.

I get that Julie I’m not picking a fight with you. 30-34” that’s fine. What I’m just there’s a lot of different formulas out there. Do your own. I’m not sweating it you’re the one questioning me.

Good morning! I have two leaves and use one on the table now as it looks better (time to take another photos) My family comes for holiday dinners (once or twice a year. This table was purchased in 1972, after looking for tables we gave up and I recycled by painting the bottom black. Actually I think the table is 40' by 60" without the leaf. With the leaf I am able to put 6 chairs there.

I would accent with the blue in pillows and decor rather than in the rug to give it a sunroom feel light on floor and solid ivory on sofa cushions...than layer in color that can be changed out for the seasons if you want..or change up entirely when wanting new color accent.

Indoor outdoor rugs are really nice and very durable..nice sunrooms with lots of light..no fading..so look at them too! Ballarddesigns.com has a nice selection.

Nice site to check!!! Tomorrow I have a painter to come and give estimate for the walls. Can't wait to get it started! The fabrics in the sunroom won't fade as we have a pergola/deck on the western side of the room, but the room still has plenty of light from the windows on the three sides!

Thought about LR rug traditional rug, etc... if sunrooms are informal why not buy cushions or durable/cheap poly rug the same hues as in rest of house? Why more neutrals as kitchen will be? [ok black Dining and maybe you love black] ?

The cushions in Pier 1 doesn't fit....I measured the existing cushions and they're 24 by 24 and I think I'll use my sewing machine for that. For 4 sets of cushions (bottom and back) it will require 8 yards or so plus a yard for piping on one side of the cushion. Stopped at JoAnn today and they have limited colors of duck fabric. Probably will order online. Why did I say 4 sets of cushions? I also have a chair in the same room that are similar with the sofa.

HIE, no we hired painters. If we do paint it'll take us 3 or 4 days (grin). These painters are good and reasonable.

to make fabric storage boxes for the laundry room as we couldn't find anything in these sizes. Haven't picked the fabric though! The laundry room was painted the same color with white shelving.

HIE, I've seen the first chandelier by Kichler at a store and liked it and it has a single pendant light too. Saw it for $350 online. On the wish list!
