Do you think you will need as much privacy in winter as you do in summer? That would influence whether you need an evergreen or a deciduous solution. Another thread recently pointed out that in winter, you're mostly inside so outside privacy isn't as important then.

Ideally an evergreen but we don’t see full sun. It’s morning sun and afternoon shade. One challenge I’ve found is many of the privacy hedges don’t grow tall enough. I believe I need 20 feet in height

thank you. I initially thought italian cypress might do the trick but i understand they are not very resilient. do you have any thoughts on italian cypress?

Giant Green Arbs, Emerald Green, or Techny are all awesome for privacy

Italian cypress have a rather narrow range of suitability :-) Not great for all areas. And they don't grow all that fast. Where are you located?

And none of the arbs will achieve a suitable size for screening, except the Green Giants. And they get wide.....those are some of real estate eaters I mentioned.

Forget the Italian cyress - they won't like it where you live. Best in warm and semi-arid environments, like the southwest or parts of Texas.
