picture for wall above headboard

I'm having a hard time deciding how to go with art work above my headboard. I'm including a pic of one I've been considering or should I be going more with different colored something? Should it be a picture instead of metal art? My sconces are black and gold. The white metal flower has gold trim around every petal.

I don't know, is it not a good idea? Here is a picture of the pics going to go above the headboard. I no longer have the pillows and blanket. I found the photos and am now concentrating on night tables and just happened to see these lamps. I really liked the feather shades but I did question the gold stands.

Also I no longer have the sconces because I just didn't like them.

You could always swap out or rub n buff the hardware gold pretty cheap I think. Gold will be pretty with your pictures.

Do you think the same mirrored ones with round glass knobs would be okay? And with these items I'm staying contemporary Devore?

    Decore

Mirrored anything has to stay pristine, so be aware of that. And once cracked cannot be disguised in any way (I'm rather practical and I like things to last, tho)

So the pics are staying, but the blanket and pillows are not? Why?

ETA: yes, you absolutely can mix metals.

They were to match the drapes and they don't match the colors in the pictures. So I took them back and will be getting new duvet set and then deciding if pillows and throw. Or keeping white duvet set and picking pillows and through more in the colors of the pics. Also you've made me think about whether the night tables are a good choice or not.

Ah okay...because of monitors :( it all looked like a good match. Why not return the pictures and start over with a clean slate?

What did you think of the nighstands in the links above? Or are you preferring to shop in person?

Because of having a large credit with Homesence I'm trying to use it in the store to use it up and that way I don't put out anymore money and then still have the credit. I would still like to see your suggestions so that I have an idea of what to look for and yes I can still return the pics. I just thought they were contemporary and added some color but am game to start all over and get it right once and for all. Should I pick up the lamps though, I do love them. But if not I won't.

If you absolutely love the lamps, then get them (you'll have time to return if worst comes to worst). I'm a firm believer in no-regret decorating :)

And yes, we must get the bargains where they are, right? You can create a great look on a small budget. I'm very used to doing my own home with Craigslist buys, etc...

I buy from Kijiji, etc alot. That's where a good75% if my stuff comes from. So I'll pick up the lamps and then concentrate on night tables before anything else.

Yes...snag those before they go. I'll take a look at tjmaxx online (I believe you can use the card there, too?) to see if we can come up with a shape/size/color...

That would be great thank you! :-)

I like something like this...the first one is from TJ Maxx, but not sure that the height is quite right..

    https://tjmaxx.tjx.com/store/jump/product/home-home-accent-furniture-accent-tables/Geometric-Mid-century-Side-Table/1000492673?colorId=NS1003534&pos=1:32&N=1866826195

Also, these stores are kind of overrun with leftovers from the Joanna Gaines craze. And imho you can do almost anything except farmhouse style here, sadly.

I would look for something like this...

Or, if you're handy at all, Ikea has some great tables that you can paint...(you can even do the above treatment with painters tape...)

These are made with the Ikea RAST (a bargain at 40 dollars each).

    https://www.shelterness.com/diy-ikea-rast-hacks/

I have done one of these turning it into a faux mother-of-pearl inlay nightstand for my daughter...

You might also consider a floating nightstand...buy ready made, or hack the IKEA Moppe drawers..

The advantage of this is that it's easy to clean the floor :)

They are rather narrow, so keep size in mind...

You can also buy ready made floating nightstands..

Just some budget ideas for you...

I think those nightstands above are adorable!

What about these ones? Silver with
Just a little bit of mirrored glass

I do like those...what do you think?

I like the fully mirrored ones better myself. I think the painted one look kind of cheap, sorry. :/

I dont like those they looked like someone rattle canned them ... you could DIY better ones lol.

the ones behind them are cool with the mirror front.

Hi what do you think of this pic for above the kitchen table? It's 48" long and 24" tall. My kitchen and frontroom are separate but I should still keep the continuity going?

Or above my couch in place of what's there as I don't like how the living room is lacking color.

Not sure which couch is your current one, but maybe this will help.

I like it best with the Taupe couch (living room) couch is 82" long is the picture an ok size 48"x24"? Do you like it there too? Chocolate brown corduroy couch is family room sectional.

Do I need something lighter background above the taupe couch to brighten the room up?

I see your point about the background color. Is the picture something you can return if you don’t like it in person?

Too add color invest in some nice new pillows and a light throw for the choc. Sofa and the tan for that matter ☺️

Unfortunately not it's being bought a site similar to Craig's List.one of the decorist suggested a pic but I have a big credit at Homesence to use so I'm trying to shop there or used.

What do you think of the pics I put above the chocolate sofa and pillows. I'm sending pics of the whole family room plus the pic of what used to be up on the wall but one of your decorators felt it wasn't proportional. Plse help me with the whole room I'm open to your suggestions. I would like to get it done and then paint it. Thank you very much for your help. I'm floundering like a fish out of water with my whole house. Where do you think the picture would look the best? Upstairs or down?

I like the picture above the brown couch better. I’d take cushions with you if you go look at the picture in person. You and paint the walls a much lighter color and the picture will look nice. The ones you have over the couch seem kind of formal to me whereas the couch (and tables) seem more casual. What is the combined size of those 2 pictures?

The couch is a dull brown and the brown in the picture is a reddish brown. Should the brown in the pic be more the color in the couch?

The circled colors look like your couch color on my screen. Screen colors are very unreliable though.

    Dark taupe

The two pics I had put above the brown basement couch are 25" x 31" each

I suggest you deal with one room at a time.

Or maybe start a new thread with "living room" in the title?

    Ok thanks

Good morning, I was wondering if my dresser is out of proportion with the headboard. Headboard is 54" tall x 61" wide, and the dresser is 41 tall x 58" wide x 14" deep. If so would a mirrored with black metal dresser of only 6 draws be a better size? Or how many inches tall would be best? Would it be nicer to have the black headboard with the mirrored dresser to give it contrast but still ties together because of the black trim and black handles?

Sorry here's the photo to go with the question showing the two pieces.

Hi it's been awhile but I've finally got the bedding for my bed and I love it. I've also put my old oak wooden dresser and night tables back in the room with the black headboard. The furniture has black handles on it. I've also put the old lamps back too. My question is what do you think and should I put the mirror above my bed or look for something else? Also should I use these curtain panels or just blinds no panels? I'm also going to put a rectangular mirror with a black frame above the dresser. Do you have any suggestions on how to decorate the top of the dresser.

    Mirror over dresser, not bed

Even though it's silver or would one with a black frame be better?

you probably use a mirror over the dresser. I dont thing you need one over the bed here.

What do you think of this mirror above the dresser or the oval one or would a solid black framed mirror be better? Would either of these mirrors be better above the black dresser that has brushed nickel handles? Would I be better off with the black dresser?

One thing I do want to say is , I thnk that fake tree needs to leave its to crowded in that corner kinda takes away from your room a bit. Personally, I dont think either mirror works, you need something larger, rectangle over that dresser.

    Not a pro.

I really appreciate your comments, tree is leaving. I am wondering what you think if either of these pics above my bed. The metal leaves are still in the box. I was thinking the metal more because it ties in with the gold decor and isn't square like all the other pieces of furniture in the room. What about the curtains being white? Is it the room looking to white washed. Should they be purple or teal? Should I paint the walls a different color? I have a question, you say your not a pro but under the title of your company it says pro.
