Oh, I miss this little rose. Mine was never vigorous and died of root rot in a pot over th winter. Feel free to continue posting pics as she grows! : ))

Here's one more...she's the cutest little thing.

What's nice about this family of roses is that they dry so nicely on the bush and make nice dried arrangements. So even if you don't get to dead-head them, they still look good.

How is your Margo Koster doing?

Pleased to say the more recent blooms on my Dick Koster have brightened up quite a bit. I thought I may have to move it to the shade but am going to keep it here in the sun to see how it performs.

They may have just needed more heat. The new ones are the bright ones and the older ones are white. The blooms seem to age well and don't get ugly which is nice but I'll have to see if they perform the same (holding together) in the heat. If they start to crisp up and turn brown I will consider moving it to the shade again.

I love the way the blooms look. Can't wait until the bush gets bigger and I can start cutting them for arrangements.

I've noticed my Pretty Lady Rose also comes in a little washed out for the first blooms of the season. It is my first year with Dick Koster because I got it last fall so I am just learning about it's habits.

My original bush of Margo Koster was barely clinging to life, in dark shade under an enormous (12 ft high, 15 ft by 15 ft) barberry bush. My FIL told me, in 1989, that he could remember it from his childhood in the 1920s, when it was a "great rose". So, we dug it up and moved it. So far that original bush has sported twice to stable sports - one is dark raspberry, which I think is called Dick Koster, and one is pure white, whose name I don't know. It is now over 10 years, and both of those bushes have remained stable in their color.

Yes it's really starting to come along I only planted it as a little band this Spring.
