Intrigue - and its sport

About 3-years ago my Intrigue rose bush seems to have sported. Intrigue is the deep purple in the foreground right. The sport is the pink rose. The sport looks a lot like Queen Elizabeth which is planted 3-feet away. But I have never seen a rose bush set out a runner to extend 3-feet away and start growing anew without any rose growth in between the two plants. Plus this pink rose has the same scent as Intrigue. I get no detectable scent from Queen Elizabeth. And the Queen Elizabeth roses in my garden only bloomed two weeks after the Intrigue sport.

Cool! 'Intrigue' (both Warriner and Kordes) doesn't have any sports listed on 'Help Me Find', so you might have a new rose variety!

ac91z6 , I think I do have a new variety, but it is pink. There are so many other pinks. It is interesting, but not something to patent. The bush is now 50/50 Intrigue and Intrigue sport.

I am aging to my early 60s. I have grown roses since my 20s. About 10-years ago my Winchester Cathedral sported (back to Mary Rose), and about 40% of that rose bush is Mary Rose, and 60% is Winchester Cathedral. I have had not other sports. To me these sports are tourist attractions, but most people cannot appreciate what interests us as rose gardeners. So, its just us that enjoy the differences.
