Is that actually a bed under the window. Is this a kids room we need more info

It is a bed up under the window and not a Kids’s bed:)

Where are you planning to put the back rest pillow on the bed? As I'm thinking once you put a mattress in, the sconce could become a head bump issue and if you are thinking along the window wall, then they will be leaning against the window and with this height of bed, I assume you need a railing so legs can't be hanging over the edge if the person is resting up against the pillows..

Since the room is no neutral/white, any vivid color you pick will make it POP!

Don't know what your color scheme is, but I"d start with your favorite colors.

Side note: I'd love a similar bed (smaller though) for a guest bedroom (digging all the storage underneath). Can you share info. about the bed?

Also curious as to what the half doors to the left of the picture lead to/are?

I looked in your Ideabook to see if I could get a sense of colors and styles you like but looks like you really like gray and white. Since your room is very neutral, you can go in different color directions. To get us started I think since the rug will be more visual than the bedding (except pillows) to keep things simple I thought we'd start by looking for a rug. Navy is very versatile and can go with different styles and many other colors. Tell us what you think of this rug - pattern and color.

Is there a color you’d like to bring into this room, or do you want to stick with neutrals? Also, is the head of the bed under the windowsill or under the sconce? Do you envision the end or side of a quilt/comforter hanging over that front edge, or do you want it to just cover the mattress?

Ted and Bluebell - thanks! Yes I think grey would work but also agree navy would do well there. I like that rug! The head of the bed will be under the sconce not the window and agree the linens should not cover the drawers.

Per the question on the bed it is a built in bed with built in drawers. The doors are closets. They are raised given structural needs in the room.

With the wall on one side I'm trying to figure out how a coverlet, comforter, blanket, and top sheet would work if you were to have any of these on the bed. As they couldn't drape on down on the wall side so the excess would have to drape over the drawer side? I guess that with a coverlet, blanket and top sheet you could tuck in all around but that is a lot of tucking and I don't know how easy that would be on the wall side. Or perhaps the bedding would be modified by yourself or a seamstress?

Just to verify this is a Cal King? 72 inches wide by 84 inches long
