Parlor Palm Having Trouble

Hi all,

I got a small parlor palm recently (about a month ago) and in the last two weeks I’ve noticed that its stems have turned slightly brown and seem to be peeling from their bases. I have a moisture meter and have been keeping it evenly moist so it’s not overwatered. I don’t see any sign of mites or other critters that could be causing this. I’ve included a link to a picture.

What I see looks merely to be old stem sheaths drying out and curling, as these probably always do.

They look normal to me. You don't have "a Parlour Palm", you have about 14 or 15 there. Result of throwing a handful of seed into a pot which is what is normally done with them. Over time some of the plants may weaken due to competition and die off. That's not unusual so nothing to worry about if it happens.
