North53 - I wish, it’s been on my want list & I’ve been hoping to stumble across it instead of ordering online. Curious, where did you find it?

We just went to Swan River, MB for the day and I found it at a little nursery there. We weren’t looking for anything in particular, just nursery hopping. It was a nice size specimen. I hope it survives. You should be able to find it in Calgary. I live in an area where there’re no large nurseries.

I'm growing out a whack of seed from 'Burning Hearts' and have gotten a gamut of foliage types from plain green to those that are tricolored green / pink / white and a lesser number that are purplish like the parent. Now, will be fun to see them come into bloom, though might have to wait until next year, as we're having one heck of an extremely wet and predominantly cool summer! In general, I do think these plants are very hardy and you "probably" won't have problems with 'Burning Hearts' overwintering, especially if you receive decent good snow cover.

Thank you, FrozeBudd. The bed where I’ve put it gets covered with snow from driveway clearing so should always have adequate cover. I’ve trained my DH to be aware of where the beds are and to keep them covered.

I grew Burning Hearts Fromm seed from Jelito seeds. Winters well. This is one if the clumps this year

Not sure. Why. The picture is not loading.

I collected lots of seed last fall and many of the resulting seedlings are now beginning to show buds, will be interesting to see how the plants vary between themselves.

Greg, I hope you try the picture again. You have to wait for the greyed out picture to clear before submitting. Not sure if that’s what happened to you though.
