We are buying a vacation home in the San Juan Islands of Washington state. It is a charming stone house that we are planning to update while retaining much of its rustic charm. The flooring is changing, the stone walls will be cleaned and patched, and the window trim will be painted. One of my dilemmas is lighting the... the front room has a peeled pole ceiling that is great, but the current entry light looks awful, as you can see in the photo. I just can't think of what would look good! Unfortunately, the ceilings are pretty low, so it needs to be something flush mounted or very close to the ceiling. Anyone have any ideas?
