Thanks! Yes! I have never had luck with cuttings. This method allows the plant to keep its leaves, so much easier transition! Do post pics if you do this! I'd love to see.

I have several cutting of plants that I have. I take cuttings of important plants just in case of rot.

The cuttings and the mother plant should bloom on roughly the same schedule. It will probably work the same as it does for me.

jedoba, how do you make your cuttings? I dry for a few days, dip in rooting hormone, and put in cocopeat. I try not to water too much. I can never get them to root without rotting.

I seriously just trim the cuttings, apply hormone, and place them directly into semi-moist soil in a mostly shaded area. I do not water them unless they are very dry, and then only enough to lightly moisten the soil again. The only time this will work is when the plants are in growth like right now.

UPDATE: This baby is doing great! It grew two new bottom branches right at the base and two more that are higher. One of the new bottom branches even has buds! I have three branches with buds so far. I'll post pictures after it flowers. I love air layering!
