Update - I sprayed water/soap/vinegar on some of the spots and they wiped right off. Maybe mold/fungus/mildew?? (I DONT know :( ) Not all the spots came off

Hello

A couple months back rapid disease (I believe )killed some of my plants within a day or two. Not sure what it was. I took a healthy looking plant to my job where a few weeks later it spotted and now looks like this

Today I observed another orchid with the same spots in my orchid patio

im very concerned for my maxilleria tenufolia (was touching this other orchid) now is sick as well. This is how it’s looking. Any advice on a homemade remedy? Should I separate the good pieces and hope they don’t get it?

Where do you grow these plants? Please provide more info. Information depends on knowing the climate and conditions these plants grow. Where are you in the world? What are the temps, light?

I am not sure since it is an orchid.... however it looks like your window sill is blackish too... I had a problem with whiteflies and chili thrips on a bayan tree... I had a white roof that turned black... like your window sill. I had the tree treated and it went away. I would look under a magnifier and see if you see either of those two insects. They can REALLY cause lots of damage.

Again, I am an orchid newbie... but the first picture looks like roof... I lost a couple of rose plants due to these nasty insects...
