Green eggs on milkweed?

I tried looking this up, but can’t really find it. They are a different color than the milkweed tussock moth eggs I have seen. The milkweed tussock moth caterpillars I had just ran off to pupate.

Any idea?

Great pictures! Still think these might be white lined Sphinx. Their eggs are green. Hope you will see one grow up to find out!

They are beautiful, Iris, but I have never seen eggs that color in that type of grouping under silk. Great set-up for the eggs though. And great photo! :)

What kind of milkweed are the eggs on?

I looked it up last night and couldn't find anything, either. They could be spider eggs, I forgot to look that one up.

It’s on common milkweed. Somebody suggested Lynx Spider eggs, but I haven’t been able to find any matching images. No adult close by to guard the eggs, either. I have these spiders around though. Going to keep an eye on the eggs.

I don't know of any spiders that lay individual eggs. Iris, are these eggs covered in a gauzy thread?

I found the same green eggs on milkweed in my garden. They look a lot like this:

Mine haven't hatched yet!

Mine disappeared last year, so I never found out what they were.

Wow! Iris S (SC, Zone 7b) maybe they were caterpillars. They probably hatched at night and ate the eggshell then a bird came and ate them

I have some newly hatched hornworms crawling on my milkweed plant and the eggs are gone. I'm pretty sure they hatched. I guess I was wrong about the wasp!! I would have rather had a wasp!

Yes it is odd. Definitely hornworms. With very large horns.

Maybe they are white lined Sphinx moth caterpillars? They eat all kinds of things. And turn into beautiful moths.

I had 2 batches of the milkweed Tussock moth caterpillars. They don’t have a horn. And the eggs are not green. They do some damage though :)

Took a picture of this one yesterday, doesn't look like he ate anything. Today he's gone.
Looks like a hornworm
