Catching up on Saturday

I took some pictures yesterday, but didn't have time to post any. We took just a few today since we were busy trying to make some crosses. The temperatures are supposed to go super hot by the end of next week so we had to "make some hay while the sun shines."

Arnie Oseland is a very vigorous plant.

Call Off the Search is a bit variable. Some times it is very strongly bicolored and other days not so much.

Crackling Fire is a dip I just had to have because it is a verse bicolor. It's usually a bit pricey, but Dan Bachman had a sale and I got it for a reasonable price.

Forever in Love is a great grower.

Morano is one that we got from Canada. It is doing well here.

Odontos is another one from Canada.

Outer Limits has not been a very good grower for us. Perhaps that is because it is in one of the weedier beds. See the bindweed in the background? I hate that stuff.

Overnight Flight is not a very big flower, but it's a great grower.

Rajah was just calling out for a clump shot. The color is brighter (more orange) than this picture shows. This is an early Stout hybrid and all of these flowers were one 2 scapes, I think. The marker in the picture says Sunset, but these scapes were arching over Sunset. Rajah is actually behind Sunset.

Spacecoast Eye for Passion doesn't like our climate. The scape is very short.

St. Louie Blues, on the other hand, has a scape like a dowel rod. Bob Faulkner, the hybridizer, does a lot of diploids, but this is a tet.

Tet. Super Purple is looking good today.

Titanic has struggled getting established here.

Don't feel bad. the scape on Spacecoasr Eye for Passion is very short here too, Nancy. Call Off The Search and Morano are botth very pretty. I like Titanic as well.

The Canadian blooms are very pretty. And that clump shot of Rajah is amazing.

With all the rain our scapes are so tall - five feet on Brookwood Black Kitten. The small flower looks weird on top of that scape.

Beautiful selection! I especially like Odontos and Titanic and Overnight Flight. At least the Spacecoast one is blooming :)

Another fan of Crackling Fire here. Reverse bicolors are so awesome. Wow on that clump of Rajah.

I like the colors on Arnie Oseland. Overnight Flight is appealing too. The saturated color on Tet Super Purple looks very rich.........Maryl

Nice varied group! Morano is gorgeous and I like Overnight Flight too - I don't think I've seen either of those before.

Overnight Flight makes quite a display en masse. Is your Outer Limits usually splotch free? Seems that I remember some complaints about that one, but yours looks good. Sturdy scapes? Good bud count? Thanks for showing us your Canadian varieties.
