Wrong site for ansonia?

I planted ansonia the shadier side of a sunny slope. Can I expect it to always flop like this? Does it need staking, the company of taller plants, or a different location?

Slopes are difficult for sure, I would think grasses would be better if you are looking for vertical accent. Love your groundcover.

I have Amsonia growing on a sunny slope and it doesn't flop at all, so I'm guessing more sun is needed.

Amsonia definitely prefers full sun, and is known to flop like that when shaded.

Assuming that's the amsonia hubrectii.... then more sun.

There is an amsonia ciliata that looks similar and flops around like that ... but it's not readily available.
