how can the soil look that dry.. if you water every day???

take a hand trowel.. and dig down 3 to 6 inches.. couple places around the plant...if it is dry..

put the hose on trickle and let it water deeply ... until you find the whole root ball moved.. moist ... it might ake a few hours on a proper trickle ...

after you get it properly watered.. add a quick bag or two of mulch ..

if you could shade it.. that wouldnt hurt ...

it will probably look like heck the rest of the year.. but if you can get the roots working.. it should survive ...

May just be the picture, ken. Bc I assure you I just watered 2 minutes prior to taking that photo. I'm soaking it! I'll shade it with a chair for a bit... it's not full sun in this location... part sun.

Sounds like you’re possible ‘overwatering’ it.

I’d recommend checking the soil before you water it....

I don’t think you can overwater a willow.

was it out of the ground long?..we've moved shrubs during extreme heat (years ago..both working..moved some on July 4th..a day off)..we never had any dry out that much..if it fit we've put rootballs in a pot or bucket of water..we've never lost a transplant..hope it survives..

...Water the dappled willow approximately twice per week until the soil is moist but not soggy. The tree requires plenty of water but will tolerate short periods of dry weather. Do not allow the roots to get soggy, as root rot will develop.
