Maple or white interior?

My cabinets will be a light blue. The lower cabinets will have maple melamine interiors to match the dovetail drawers. Some of the upper cabinets will have (probably frosted) glass doors. Would you go with maple or white melamine for the interior?

Any glass fronted cabinet should have an interior that matches the exterior. The solid footed ones should have the maple laminate.

My cabinets have a teal blue interior which is laminate for the shelves and interior of the sink cabinet.

The cabinets with clear glass have wood interior which matches the exterior - it's not white or maple laminate but the same wood as the doors and exterior of boxes.

Here's a picture of my cabinets being constructed which shows the top cabinets which will have clear glass fronts versus the interior which are blue behind sold wood doors.

Here's how it looks with the doors attached - pardon mess on counter as picture was taken as I was moving in.

Thanks! So you don't think it's odd to have some cabinets maple and then some (the ones with glass) the same colour as the doors?

That is absolutely standard for cabinets - i.e. wood interiors to match the exterior where the wood is seen with clear glass door is closed and white or fake maple in closed cabinets. I just opted for teal blue in my closed cabinets since I could do any color I wanted :-).

Here's a picture which shows the position of my drain under the faucet

@itsminenow - My drain is in the left rear of the sink deliberately so the faucet is over the drain. Most sinks have drains in the middle and that is why the faucet is generally in the middle since it is over the drain.

My dishwasher is to the left and so the drain connection is also closer to the dishwasher. I don't know if that is relevant - for design reasons I opted for the dishwasher to the left instead of the right where it seems to be more typically placed. I am left handed.

I deliberately opted for a rear drain on the side because it means that my garbage disposal unit is not in the middle of the sink cabinet - it is to the side. This gave me enough room to have a pull out trash bin in the sink cabinet. If my drain and garbage disposal were in the middle, I would have small spaces on either side of the disposal but not enough room for a pull out trash. FWIW, I have a roll out installed on the floor of my sink cabinet so that anything stored in my sink cabinet isn't lost in the black hole of Calcutta. :-)

Also I can stack dishes on the other side of the sink and leave the drain and garbage disposal free. Typically if a drain is in the middle, you wind up having stuff on top of the drain.
