Exterior paint color selection

We are about to embark on an exterior painting project. Should I stick with the current scheme of cream and brown to go with the tan brick and reddish roof? Thanks for any input!

How about Iron Ore or Urbane Bronze and the cream?

Paint the front door a deep red:

    Or, a lovely soft teal:

I like this blue with the tan as well:

I’m thinking your house is like a pair of khaki pants, everything works!

Oh, and landscaping would do wonders.

Stylish new house numbers (BOLD AND BLACK), powerwash the stoop and maybe one day widen the walkway (should be at least 4’ wide).

Also, I find your house quite charming.

    Post updates!

    What a cute house!

Another option, maybe paint all the trim cream and just the front door a pretty color to stand out. If you want a bit more of an impact, you could paint all the exterior brick cream. Lots of before and after transformations if you search.

Like the idea of widening the step and walkway!

Oh man, there's SO much you could do!

My brick is a similar color, so I used it as a reference as I was flipping through my trusty Sherwin Williams fan-deck, but of course your brick may be a slightly different shade, and sunlight may hit your house differently than it hits mine, which will change the look of any of the colors I suggest below. Definitely put up some samples before committing. Anyway, some specific tips:

First, I'd paint the trim behind the entry portico either a darker or low-contrast color so that it recedes and brings the cream portico forward. I'd leave both the portico and the trim along the roofline on the left side of the house (obscured by trees in the pic) the same cream color they are now.

Second, consider painting the post-portico trim and the front door first, since you'll definitely want those to be two different colors. You can decide at that point which of the two colors you'd rather use on the shutters once you see those two elements painted.

    Color scheme ideas:

    Earthy:

    1. Green Monochromatic:
Post-portico trim: SW 0065 Vogue Green, SW6194 Basil, or similar
Door: SW0066 Cascade Green, SW6190 Filmy Green, or similar

    2. Green & Spice

    Post-Portico Trim: SW6179 Artichoke

Door: SW7702 Spiced Cider, SW7701 Cavern Clay, SW2854 Caribbean Coral, or similar

    Colorful:

    1. French Blue & Spice:
Post-Portico Trim: SW7702 Spiced Cider, SW7701 Cavern Clay, SW2854 Caribbean Coral, or similar
    Door: SW9161 Dustblu or similar

    2. Pastel:

    Post-Portico Trim: SW0069 Rose Tan

Door: SW0068 Copen Blue, SW6255 Morning Fog, SW6246 North Star, SW9136 Lullaby, SW6232 Misty or similar pale blue or aqua

    3. Rich Red & Pale Green/Blue:
    Post-Portico Trim: SW7584 Theater Red
Door: SW0066 Cascade Green or similar; SW0068 Copen Blue, SW6255 Morning Fog, SW6246 North Star, SW9136 Lullaby, SW6232 Misty or similar pale blue or aqua

What a fun project this will be. Paint is magic!
