7’ vanity/makeup table with tower centered between?

I’m adding a master bathroom onto an existing house. I have a 7’ span for a single sink and seated makeup table. Having been on a knee scooter for the past 2 weeks (ankle surgery), I have realized that depending solely on lower cabinets and drawers may not be ideal if my ankle troubles continue. I am also 5’ tall, though, so reaching back into behind-the-mirror medicine cabinets and such is also difficult. I wondered if a center tower would fit within my 7’ area? Obviously, the top shelves would be purely decorative, but it would give me a nice bit of easily accessible storage, plus outlets for charging things. I just can’t find examples of center tower vanities that I KNOW are 7’ long! How wide would each section be in order to look balanced?

How tall are you planning for the vanity height? Nowadays people are making them kitchen-height but my 5’ friends don’t like that. Is your make up area going to be dropped down? Or will there be one continuous span of countertop?

It sounds doable to me, but probably you would need a custom cabinet builder. I have an 8’ vanity with 2 sinks, no make up spot, with center tower, with electrical inside and out.

Seems like you could do it a few different ways. You could have the tower at an end, like a linen cabinet against a wall, then sink, then make up. Or you could have a mirrored tower right in front of you as you are seated, if the tower is shallow. Planning for only one sink opens up your options.

If you post a floor plan with measurements, the pros on here will be able to give you more help.

I forgot to post photos. The space doesn’t exist yet, but I was thinking about a tower like this, with the sink on one side, vanity on the other, and decorative shelving at the top.

Will your vanity area have a wall on one side and open end on the other, like in the picture? Or are you not that far along yet to know the overall layout of the room?

Yes, wall on one end (with window on that wall) and open on the other as the bathroom door will open into that wall.

The seated vanity will have a top around 28-29 inches. I haven’t decided on the sink height as I haven’t researched what would work for me! It WAS going to be 36” when y’all DH and I were going to share a vanity, but now that we’ve switched things around, I guess I can do whatever I want!

“TALL DH”, not “y’all DH”. He’s 6’, so quite the difference between us, which make planning joint areas... interesting.

A center tower should fit in a 7' span and if you like that look, go for it!

I, personally, would switch the tower to the side and not put it in the middle. My current temp bath has a 7' double vanity with zero space for towel storage in the bathroom. So, I put a 15" wide by 30" tall wire shelf in the middle and it makes the small bathroom seem even smaller, to me. Our new build plan has linen cabinets flanking the sinks and vanity in the middle.

To help with your reach-ability, you could also have the tower made with shelving that pulls out like a kitchen pantry cupboard does. I did this for the leg of my custom vanity. Yours would simply be wider and have shelves. Here is mine:

We used a drawer slider on the top, and two on the bottom. For your width, use two on the top. My vanity is only 14" deep, so mine had to be custom. Your tower will probably not be the full depth that the pre-fab units come in, but if you do put it on the end, you could do it that way and use one of the pre-fab units. Or, here is one shallow one meant for a wall cabinet:
