BTW I don't think it's Penang Peach either, I have one of those and the leaf color, growth habit, stem thickness and stem color look different to me although when I bought it I though it might be PP too. From the posts' pictures here it looks most like CA Sunset to me. Is there any reason to think it is definitely not CA Sunset?

May need to think of it as PP seedling and leave it at that, LOL.

You're probably right, the more I look at it the more it doesn't look like PP. I wouldn't guess CS either cause I have both and they look almost exactly the same. PP petals are just a little more pointy on the end.

Thanks Chris! The oval petals with really jagged outer edge is what has got me scratching my head the most.

I think the jagged edge is from bug bites. Maybe thrips?

I investigated the bug situation further and I think you are right. There has also been some bud drop that I don't think is watering or temperature related (though it has been cool here) and there are some deformed leaf places here and there.

Maybe thrips or possibly spider mites. I have spiders everywhere, lol. I sprayed this afternoon after the plant was no longer in direct sunlight with neem oil and will see if it helps.

Either Penang Peach or California Sunset would be most likely. Flower color -- especially on Penang Peach -- can be quite orange with HEAT (we're talking not only hot days, but warm nights). But if you don't have heat, the two can look very similar.
