So a neighbors dog got out and trampled through my garden. It appears he stepped on one of my first Bush Sugar Baby Watermelon fruits. It's about the size of a golf ball. There's very minor dirty scratch marks on the surface of the skin, however I don't think it pierced all the way through. How tender are the fruits at this point? I know now of course chances of some sort of infection/bacterial disease may be increased, but can they self-heal at all? Or may I very well lose this fruit?
