Spoonflower Sample Swatch: first time

Pls excuse the color if it seems to read grey, it's really olive green (long story). But this is an 8" square of a design of mine. Kinda cool!

Is anyone else out there who has done this? I did a search here for this topic, Salijo, Dan the Man, either of you out there pls?

Karen, I like your fabric swatch! Do the symbols have meaning?

I don’t know anything about Spoonflower. Will they print yardage of your design if you want it?

Thanks Donna, no the symbols have no meaning, I was 'doodling' w/ symbols

    available in Word.

Yes, Spoonflower provides digital printing, where one can print one's own textile designs. They also offer ones' own custom designs on gift wrap or wall paper as well. There's a vast library of folks' own designs which can be offered for sale to others as well.

I was hoping to hear more from others who may have experienced their fabrics being sold to others there.

Interesting. I've never heard of Spoonflower.

My sister wanted to do a family history quilt. I told her I would make the quilt if she would do the photos. She never followed up, but I checked and Spoonflower can take your scanned photos and print them on fabric.

You could do a great family history story.

Your design in fabric is fantastic! I haven't used Spoonflower, though I've always wanted to give it a go.

Absolutely love your design! I’ve not used Spoonflower, but have no been the lucky recipient of a special design Kate made for me years ago...really nice fabric!

Sue, you have given me a new idea...love the thought of having old photos placed on fabric...wow, another project to add to the list!

Sue, what a lovely & charming quilt & that saying in the center really works well. Thx for showing us. Am not a mom or grandma, but is that Harry Potter based? So smart of you to use Spoonflower for quilt labels, thx for a great idea.

Larri & LittleHelen, thx, I've got a lot of these designs which I did yrs. ago, but due to various complications never got up & running.

This swatch was a test for me. Since it went OK, I just placed an order for a sampler in one yard of 25 of my own print designs (will also serve to proof the individual designs). I can't tell you how thrilled I am. It was exciting to receive the swatch shown above. I've wanted to do this for decades!

I'm back. Do folks here know the word "kvell"? Am I allowed to kvell here? This came several days ago, I am just Over the Moon w/ excitement.

It's clickable to see more detail, but the image may rotate.

The colors certainly need work, but I aim to release these for sale shortly; am still learning how all this works.

Seems Spoonflower also has a related division of Bedding & Interior Fabrics for Custom & DIY work called Roostery, but I haven't checked that out yet.

A couple of them whose colors I really like so far.

    My beloved turquoise & teal.

    Cool, black & white graphics.

    A classic, stars.

    One more, tiny graphics.

Pardon the wrinkles, I've been handling it & need to wash it before I press it.
