It looks very similar to a Ground Beetle (family Carabidae). They are not a pest of anything inside a house, although they might eat fruit or seeds if present. I would just toss it outside.

Al, 100% positive that it's not a cockroach.

Cockroach has flattened, more oval body, much longer antennae, lacks the longitudinal furrows on the wing covers.
