“Silver Street”

Good Monday everyone...!

I ordered and just received what the seller calls a Bantell’s Sensation sport called ‘Silver Street’. I don’t know if this name is correct or not, but it’s a gorgeous plant, unlike anything I’ve ever seen, and I’m so happy I bought it... I looked up online and could not find any information on it; have any you ever heard of it, or know anything about it?

Mary - I hear the name for the first time, but the plant is beautiful !! And I believe that it can be the sport of Sans. trif. 'Bantel's Sensation'.

One of my copies Sans. trif. 'Bantel's Sensation' changes the leaves, and they are very similar to your plants :) Maybe in some time the center of the leaves will darken and I will have a plant like you :)

Very pretty Mary! I have a golden street but never heard of silver street. I wonder if it's listed In one of Juan Chahinian's books

Thanks Nancy... please let me know if you find anything out... also, can you please post a pic of your ‘Golden Street’ for comparison?

The tallest leaf is 29 inches, the widest is 1 1 /2 inches. It's in an 8 inch pot. That is Siam silver next to it on the left for comparison

@Nancy... thank you so much for the pic... your Sans is gorgeous! It sort of reminds me of my ‘Craigii’... (spelled wrong in pic... haha! )

The f is that ? Looks gorgeous, I’ve never seen anything quite like it. It could absolutely be a new cultivar based on the Bantel’s Sensation.

@edinburgha... I know, I’ve looked it up and can’t find anything like it! It’s gorgeous in person!

I have leaves on my Bantal like that but not again in the same node. Maybe when it's overgrown and busting at the seams it will pup a sport. Like the over crowded Gold Hahnii that produced a Solid Gold pup. Nice. Nice. Just when I want to cut back on my collection.

@Stush... if I ever get pups from this plant, I’ll be sure and share with you...! by the way, the ‘Asahi’ you sent me is hanging on... thanks again!

Mary, I can wait. Let it get full and over crowed before cutting it up. Thanks for the offer.

***UPDATE - I stand corrected! I spoke to seller again, and I was wrong, the plant I purchased is in fact a ‘Golden Street’... it just looks way different than any other ‘Golden Street’ I have seen/found. She is working on getting more to sell, I’ll post her link when she does.***

Thanks Mary. Have you potted your Golden St. yet?

@Thomas... Potting it up right now as we speak... haha!

All set! Crossing my fingers that I don’t kill it...!

Mary, I think she is wrong. It doesn't look gold at all. None of the leaves on my golden street have the striped edge either.

@Nancy... I agree! So the mystery continues... haha! I can’t find anything else that looks like it; so I’ll keep everyone updated if I find any new info. She’s trying to get some more to sell; I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

Mary, I think your new plant looks like the sansevieria to the right of the plant you circled in red in your green mermaid post.

Wow Nancy... you may be right, plus it looks nothing like your ‘Golden Street.’ Idk what to think any more... haha! I’ll keep looking anyway so we can confirm what ever it is... it’s a beautiful Sans, my new favorite, along with a ‘Lillian True’ I just got...

Hello there. Maybe I know the name. ( Sansevieria trifasciata

'Banded Nelsoni' )I have been looking for this. Can tell me where I can buy it. Thank you. Forgive me for my English is not very good。

@RoNin Lo... HI! thanks for the suggestion, but it is definitely not a ‘Banded Nelsonii’... I bought it on a Facebook plant selling group I belong to. She doesn’t have any left right now, but is trying to get more. BTW, your English was very good!

@Nancy... now that I know for sure that the 3rd plant in that pic of the 3 new varieties is in fact NOT a ‘Black Princess Sandy’, maybe you’re right and that is the same as my plant. We still have to figure out it’s name though... haha!

this is a color pic I found of a real ‘Black Princess Sandy’ ... it’s gorgeous...

    That IS gorgeous.
