Hydrangeas much slower than usual

I was wondering if others have the same problem. We had a cold and wet spring here but then since about end of June the weather has been very summer like.

i have a 3 year old phantom which always has done well. This year it looks ok but I would say it is a good month behind.

the same thing with my vanilla strawberries and pinky winky

i am in zone 4,

This is only my second year with my Hydrangeas. My Macro's were slightly early to on schedule. I winter protected them so I think that gave them a head start. My Paniculatas....... My Vanilla Strawberry is blooming but my Pinky Winky and LimeLight are probably 2 weeks away from having good blooms on them.

Looking around at other peoples gardens... It's all over the place. Some have flowers already turning pink (very few). Some have full on blooms, some have no blooms at all and some have baby blooms.

Yup, my limelights and quick fires are both about 2-3 weeks late this year, I know because I took some photos last year and compared :) We also did have a wet and cold spring and all of the sudden massive heat came over and I think that did it.
