Glasshouse Works has them. I have one for several years now and it refuses to pup. It grows a new leaf maybe one a year. Tried re-potting with new soil mix but sill nothing. Very frustrating plant for me to grow. Tried all my secrets on it and still no results.

I had a similar problem with Bantal's Sensation but with new stock I got from Lowes, they thrived and pupped well for me.

This is one I have had trouble with too. Our temperate winters are hard on some of these high variegates......under ideal conditions it would probably grow better. A beautiful cultivar.

This is probably the most difficult Sansevieria there is to grow. But it’s also the most beautiful. Slow growing, giving me only a pup or two each year. They must be kept warm and at the same temperature all the time, so growing them indoors year round is perfect. I’ve been told they easily rot so I let them dry out completely for a week or more before watering and I have yet to loose a plant. My plants thrive in a 50-50 mix of perlite and potting soil.

It seems impossible to simply add a photo from my mobile phone. We really deserve a better forum, away from this crap from Houzz :(

Hello Ronin. It will probably thrive in lots of mixes, for me I use 50-50 perlite and potting soil, sometimes also adding small stones (the smallest size you use in aquariums) to add some stability to the mix. This is an easy-to-fix soil mix and works for all Sansevieria. Just remember to water thorougly (so it comes out the drainage holes) and then remove any excess water and finally let the soil dry completely - let it stay completely dry for atleast a week before watering again. The Forescate cultivar is not forgiving and will easily rot when overwatered. Also remember it grows alot slower than an ordinary Trifasciata - if you get a single pup every year you should be happy. Sometimes it just sits there for months or even years without anything happening - don’t despair, it will produce offsets eventually. And remember, the pups are all green in the beginning and look like ordinary Trifasciata at first, not going yellow until they’re older and bigger.

A healthy, large bunch of Forescate is a feast for the eye, so I’m glad you’re interested in this cultivar.

Sorry, Ronin. They’re not for sale. I ordered them online four years ago but that company doesn’t seem to have them in stock anymore and there’s not a single specimen on sale on Ebay so they might be difficult to procure right now.

I was lucky. A friend gave me one with a bunch of other stuff he had. I checked mine out yesterday. Took out of the pot. Most of the roots are rotted/gone. Soil I used was about 1/4 potting soil and 3/4 grit. Changed to all new soil. Some compost I had. Pure. I thru some left over aloes that were rootless from transplanting and in just one month, They had roots almost a foot long in that stuff. Weeds always grow like mad in my pile so I figured It must be good just the way it is. Also a recent sans hahnii I purchased was in pure peat and it had roots all thru the pot. Some thing I'm missing here?

You could try Bob Smoley's Gardenworld. Call first to make sure she has one.

I think they’re just difficult, Stush. I repot mine once a year, usually in march or april and even though they’ve been in the pot for an entire year there aren’t much roots if you compare to an ordinary Trifasciata. I keep both of my specimens in small pots, but there’s still plenty of soil untouched by roots, so they don’t develop that much roots.

Edinburgha, I would have said the same thing about Bantal's Sensation. Purchased several over the years and it grew ever so slowly and usually ended up dead. Gave up on them and then saw 4 pots full of about 6 plants each on the clearance rack at Lowes for $1 each. They had them marked for over $20 each so who could resist? Purchased all 4 and planted them up in a window box. Well every year I would gift out at least 6 or more and they just kept coming back. Never had problems with them again. Could it be the strain or what ever but they grow very well for me now.

Notice soil is on the petty side. Now if only Forescate would do half as well.
