What bedding and decor do you have in the other bedroom? Base your color on that.

Is the other room gray right now? It looks calming from the sliver that is photographed. I have BM Van Cortland Blue adjacent to BM Smoke in my home and I think it's a nice look (though definitely a more vivid color). BM Gray Owl or Stonington Gray would complement well too. The view from your hallway doesn't look bad to me!

groveraxle, I have nothing in the other bedroom at present. I wanted to start with the wall color and build off that.

Paint comes last. Since paint colors are infinite, it's a lot easier to coordinate them with the furnishings than the other way around.
