Definitly a sweet little settee...probably dates to the 1890's to 1915 or so....probably part of a parlor set and there were a couple of matching chairs to go with it. The wood is probably stained maple....but possibly mahogany.

Ebay, sold listings....but unfortunately it seems people are not buying such things....you might get $100 for it....most likely less.

"Brown" wood furniture is almost valueless in the current market place because it's not in style and there is a glut as there is so much on the market.

Also going against value is that there would be additional costs in order to reupholster the piece which someone would factor in terms of whether to purchase. The "value" of the piece is solely whether you can use it and whether you want to invest whatever money it takes to reupholster versus buying a new item.

As others have posted, it's a nice looking piece of furniture. If you like it and want it in your home, enjoy. Otherwise, donate to charity or to a friend who might be able to use it.

I had to unload a lot of furniture last year when I remodeled including large Victorian china cabinets with bowed glass fronts. Twenty years ago they might have been worth something but no interest at all in today's market.

If you’re wanting to sell it, I would recommend taking it to a consignment shop if there are any near you. There are usually plenty of people looking for vintage and antique furniture at those shops including antique dealers. You won’t get rich of course, but at least you might make a little something from it.
