What, you can't do a search in Houzz? How about posting a REAL design dilemma?

gee, I guess I forgot to mention...I have done a lot of searching, online, in stores and on houzz

Thanks for the helpful comment, lol!

How high off the floor is your countertop?

any opinions on this?

megs1030 it is 35 inches

and also, the table you see in the far right is NOT the table we will be using. The one we will be using is an antique mahogany double pedestal table

and I kind of like these...but they might be too different in style??

Ok... if you've done a ton of searching, what is the problem you're running into? What have you liked or disliked? Otherwise, we're just going to retread the same territory and waste both your time and ours.

I feel like I am seeing a lot of modern, and I don't think the style should be modern. I like old, more vintage stuff

Of the two you posted I like the first one best. Your kitchen is not super traditional, not super contemporary, not really vintage... that in the middle transitional. I also like this one (you pick the material on the chair):

Thanks so much for everyone's help. Over a bottle of wine last night my husband convinced me to get these. Lol, I do think they will look great. Everything I was NOT looking for, oh well!

ain't that always how it is...

Without a small backrest you won't be sitting at your counter, eating or chatting for long...

pippabean_5b, has never been an issue for us In our prior kitchen we had backless stools at a breakfast counter and used them daily for breakfast, lunch, working at a laptop without any discomfort. We'll be just fine thanks!
