What to do, what to do?

My living room is small. Two walls have tongue and groove in a medium wood color, and the other two are mostly window and off white. All our trim, curtain poles, fireplace trim are a medium wood finish. My husband did all this, it looks nice. But our wood floor is a disaster. We scratch the heck out of itWe keep thinking about putting a weathered grey wood plank looking vinyl or cork floor over it, white washing the walls and leaving the trims alone. I white washed our fireplace already and it helped trenendously.(I do love color though)I just don't want to do all this and create a mistake.I want a floor that is inexpensive because we want to sell the house (and have it look bright and good) but also durable in case we stay here.More then anything I want it to look cool.I have a eclectic, global, vintage, artsy style?Since the room looks very woody, what do you think of the grey weathered floor, white washed wood walls and natural wood colored trim? Is it weird? Have a suggestion?Any advice is welcomed.
