I use scrubbing bubbles on my sink and shower, just be careful not to overspray, or I lay a towel down if I am spraying the shower when it is open. My etching on the polished marble is from hard water drips I think

To clean the the marble floor I use some commercial spray and wipe marble and stone cleaner. Zep?

Beautiful floor! Please remember to post pics when it is done! We are also putting dolomite in a small guest bathroom floor (husband's idea), and I had the same question a few weeks ago. I did find a PH neutral toilet bowl cleaner online but it would be pretty painful to pay $20 for a bottle of toilet bowl bowl cleaner. Scrubbing Bubbles is what I always use on the outside of the toilet (it is great at getting hairspray off).

I did see online that Softscrub Advanced Surface Gel can be used on marble. Now you wouldn't put it on a floor, but I assume it is safe to use on other things near the floor.

Y’all using acidic cleaners are gonna end up with big time etches. One day you’ll be in a hurry, or you’ll get tired of pampering a princess, and that’s when it will happen. Then it’ll happen again, because the first etch is the worst, and the worst will have already happened. You need to throw them out of that bathroom. PH neutral cleaners only. Like ZEP. Or reign yourself to major ugly patina. Especially around the toilet. You’ll already get etching there anyway, from urine drops. If you’re nuts enough to try to create a no standing peeing policy, you need to ditch marble and get a grip that you don't live a marble life.

I have marble floors and counters. I use MB stone cleaner for my marble counters and my mirror. I also have a non-acidic toilet bowl cleaner that is safe for marble.

For my floors I use a Bissel steam cleaner and so I don't use any product on my floors.

I checked Meyer cleaning solution ingredients with my GC and ingredients are safe for marble. My housekeeper likes to clean the exterior of my toilet with it as she likes the smell of the lavender :-).

I also do not stock any products in my home that could be detrimental to my finishes. This is easy to do since there are so many safe excellent products available.

What kind of barn are people raised in where their floors are sprayed by urine by adult males? LOL It's only on houzz that I have heard this is an issue and I have a lot of friends with marble bathrooms whose husbands are toilet trained.

I have honed tile so don't worry too much about it. I just assume it will get etched and to me that's part of the character of marble.

Thank CP for the compliment. I assume mine will etch as well, especially with a 4 yr old grandson but would like to find a cleaner that will not help the etching along. I saw the tile and just loved it. The color is a really pretty green which is hard to see in that picture. My husband had a heart attack over the price. Thankfully it is a very small bathroom. I never heard of ZEP. I could use the Soft Scrub for the bathroom but not sure what to use on the marble floor. I am thinking of buying a steamer. It is what I use in Florida but I have all tile there. Can you use a steamer on engineered hardwoods?

Helen I love Meyers and have the Pine scent as well as Orange Clover.They are special scents that are available for limited times. I like the honeysuckle too. They make the home smell so good. I hope I can use it on my granite and dolomite.

Good to know they will not etch my marble although something will at some point.

I do not think (or hope) anyone plans on spraying urine but young boys and older men do dribble. Nature of the beast.

Greendesigns I am not a fanatic and have no plans to go crazy over the marble floor. Of course I also am not looking to ruin it either. Just like with wood floors, you want to find a cleaner that cleans well but will not ruin it. Think this is true with anything. The guest bathroom is your typical tiny guest bathroom-36"vanity, toilet then tub so the floor is a small area.

I have the same marlble floor in the bathroom. In my case I called cleaner from https://www.emop.co.uk/ . I don’t know how he cleaned the floor but I was satisfied his work.
