Range hood question

Hello Houzzers! I am installing a 40" ILVE dual fuel range. I like to cook, frequently saute and like to bake. I am confused about range hoods and this is what I THINK I know: probably need at least 900 cfm's, probably should have a 42" range hood. It is not in an island, but a slide-in range along my cabinet walls. I have a budget of <$1,000 and I know that's not a lot. If it was absolutely necessary I'd go for a higher price, but that means losing it somewhere else. Any thoughts on minimum needs? Note, I am not installing upper cabinets - only shelves. This might be important? Please give me thoughts and advice and thank you all!!

Your appliance store or the manufacturer can help you determine what's best for your situation. I would have loved a huge hood over my island but I had to go down due to plumbing, etc. in the ceiling. I had to compromise on the cooktop since I had to get a downdraft which is never as powerful as going up with a hood. I cook all the time and really would have liked a more powerful hood to draw out smoke and odors but I sat down with the local distributor and we worked out a good compromise.

Your budget is absurdly out of proportion. It won't even pay for the MUA system required. And you need a minimum of 1200 CFM.

The cfms for the hood are calculated by the strength of the stove as well as the length of the run to get outside. You definitely need to talk with your appliance specialist to determine the best one for your needs. This is not an area to try to save money, but you also don't have to do some elaborate piece to have a quality vent.

You need a 48” hood, minimum. 1200CFM. MUA. The ventilation will cost more than the range.

With your limitations raw and sous vide can be worthwhile considerations.
