It's a kitchen table...the knapp joint places it clearly into the industrial age....between 1867 and roughly 1900....that is table #1.
Can't see the dovetailing on table #2.

I was told that the drawers of table 2 are NOT dovetailed. So, what are they?

I do have more pictures of table 1. Is that crack a problem?

What would be a fair price for either?

I'd like to use it as a dining table.

Unless you are going to repair the wonky leg yourself or pay someone to do it, I would select the other table.

I would wonder since these are supposedly kitchen tables if they are low enough to serve as a dining table. You can of course remove part of the leg. I remember kitchen tables as being tall enough to stand and prepare stuff without bending or stretching.

I can't tell how wonky the leg is. It's because the top lifts in that one corner.

I'd go with the second one, especially if the legs are chamfered on the inside corner.

Around here, where simple but honest old tables like that are popular (and endlessly useful, and pleasing to the eye, genuine, etc) - Ottawa Valley, Ontario, Canada - they go for at least $100/foot, so a 6' table, say, would be AT LEAST $600. Honestly, the pricing is all over the place - it's a weird market nowadays.

You'd probably want to think a little about how you'd use it, what chairs would suit, etc. Would you want to sit on the ends, if you were hosting a crowd? Put serving dishes down the middle, or have a buffet close by?

We have an 8' x 2' harvest table, not dissimilar in style to the second one. It's all beaten up, layers of paint, has a tin top over the original pine planks. I love it, but it's soo skinny you're literally eating face-to-face, like Lady and the Tramp and the spaghetti, lol. I love that it's old, and the genuine article, not some crappy mass-produced Asian import made from disappearing rainforest lumber, or local rough-hewn faux thing with "reclaimed barn board" (ha!) pine boards that'll split in no time at all. wow......the antique farmhouse table is very different from in the midwest!

Very different in both size, price, and name than this portion of the Midwest. The western edge of the Midwest where I live a farmhouse table is never that narrow as all of the dishes for a meal would be required to fit on the table. In this area those tables would have been called a pantry table. The size is so that they could be moved from a pantry to the kitchen when there was a need. They were also taller so that when someone was canning there would be less need to bend over when filling jars. At most I have seen them in this area was $125 and it had been there over a year.
