Beautiful!! So glad I have her on my Christmas List. How is the fragrance?

If I had to choose a single best smelling rose ever it would be this one. I truly love its fragrance more than any other. It's fruity but not a sweet fruity more of a complex fruit and wine and old rose fragrance all mixed together. I just love its fragrance.

I also love this rose.... mine almost died on me when I had it in the ground. The neighbors royal palm tree was killing it... the roots stole all the nutrition and water. It took me a long time to figure what was going on, because their tree wasn't all that close. I had this tick mat that kept coming back I would dig it out and within a month the aggressive roots would be back. I finally dug up FD aka Barcelona and put him in pot.... he has done wonderfully well. I am trying to root a cutting.... he took and bloomed once and is now sitting and sitting and sitting.... hopefully putting out good roots in his pot. The mother plant is setting hips.... I am letting them ripen in hopes to get some seed so I can try and propagate them.... I don't want to cut them back this time of year anyway because of chili thrips.... But you are right about his scent. When his one little bloom opened under lights, my husband even commented that it smelled great.

Mine is in its first year in my garden so I don't know yet how big it will get. Compared to others I planted the same time is average so far.

Barcelona/Francis Dubreuil is a marvelous rose, richly fragrant. The best one I have ever seen was grown in South Carolina by CarolFM, formerly a member of this forum.
