Talk about a blank slate! I would suggest you start by collecting pics into your own ideabook of things you like. the ideabooks on houzz should give you lots of inspiration.

Then, I would make a diagram of the property, using your deed or property survey. Plan where you would put a cottage if you were to build one ans well as access roads and walkways. From there, you might be able to start planting some trees and things that take a ;longer time to grow as you do more work.
