Very nice..congratulations on your lovely new sofas....you need a much larger end table between the sofa and loveseat....with a good size lamp..much bigger than what you have....adding wall art and drapes will start to fill in the empty space...get rid f the vertical blinds if possible!

Forgot......Your rug is too small you need a 8x10 front legs of both sofas need to be on the rug.

Yes to a larger rug and move sofa away from the wall

What should I replace the vertical blinds with?

Hi Aniee....a traverse rod easy open and closing or you can do drapes with grommets. They can be opened all to one side or split...

I like them split on each side..than you don’t need such a wide drapery panel..halfpricedraoes.com sells wide width panels and some fabrics can be ordered with custom sizes...amazing quality and great prices..they have sales all the time!:)

Your cat seems to love your new end table!:))) but they are a bit too small:(

If i was to get a new rug, what color do you think? and i don't know if i should put a mirror or a piece of art above the sofa

Please no mirrors over your sofas. Yes to artwork....look around for art that you love and makes you happy...no mass produced stuff. Look for art studios, art schools and look on line for the work of local artists. Please too add some other colors to your room.

following

@threers what colors would look best? i was thinking blush but i feel like that might be overdone.

@Home Interiors with Ease omg this is amazing for inspo!!! thank you

Ainee,

Others here have suggested a larger rug; if you do buy a larger rug, see what colors look good to you; same with any curtains you may buy. In my mind your room would look good with navy and white or navy with yellow. Check on line sites for rugs and drapes and study what appeals to you. You have barely any pattern in your room. Do you like florals, stripes, plaids, This is your house and it needs to look good to you firstly.

All of the above also applies to artwork...you need to see what is out there and see what you like.

Some people prefer abstracts, or landscapes or seascapes or paintings/drawings from your travels or your country of origin.

How do you see stuff? go on line, go to your library, look at magazines...visit art museums and see and react what is beautiful to you?

Your home is a reflection of you and your family. Educate yourself and build a home that is yours.

@threers I really like the navy and white idea!! I'm drawn to florals too. These are really good ideas. You are totally right, i'm new to this so it's interesting to me. i appreciate the advice.

One more thought: looking a patterned fabrics and wallpapers will give you ideas of color schemes. Thank you too for your comments.

Around 2/3 of the width around 65” wide
