An adenium in bud will bloom in about 2 weeks. I've grown over 400 Adenium from seed and done pruning of the root system in every which form you can imagine. In my humble opinion, cutting off a "tap root" does NOT cause the roots to thicken. Adeniums mature at age 3 years ... ALL roots should be kept underground during that time. This is what causes the roots to thicken.

Enjoy what looks to be a lovely single red rimmed bloom. She will need lots of sun and feeding at 1/4 strength weekly. Please share it with us once she opens.
