Dust catcthers! But everyone has their tolerances ..... I’m too OCD.

The ones in my kitchen I have to do at least 3 times a year - minimum! Not "dusting, but removing, washing & re-hanging.

Absolutely a PIA. Especially if you don’t have good ventilation and more than dust is attaching to them.

I have pendants that have frosted glass because I don't like to see bulb-light directly....they get visibly dusty too. Just something to think about....

I have bell shaped pendants, and I clean them once a quarter. I just spray winded on a microfiber cloth and wipe them off. Not a PITA at all.

Hot water a microfiber cloth on a pair of tongs will get the inside not windex with microfiber it ruins the purpose of using microfiber . Yes they get dirty and so does every other light fixture.

Dusty I guess I don’t mind, quick swiffer would be a pinch. It’s the grease I’m more worried about. The ones I’m looking at are unable to detach, so wondering if it would be difficult to clean.

Get better ventilation. And lights with shades that can go in the DW.

Is your cooktop/range in the island that these pendants are hanging over?

I guess if that's the case and you aren't running the hood when you cook or use a nonstick spray, any pendants could get greasy. Only recessed lights will avoid this fate.

The third pendant you posted (Feiss Lawler), however, is an enclosed globe. This would be the easiest to clean since you only have to worry about the outside, and won't have to get into the intricate details of the metal and glass up inside the other/bell-shaped pendants you listed.

Regardless, make sure you run that hood even when using the nonstick spray before cooking, and be sure to spray even muffin tins, casserole dishes, etc ALWAYS beneath the hood...it will suck the airborne residue right up :)

Dusty and greasy and frosty from the combination. I have to take them down every two weeks and soak in hot water with vinegar. It’s the pits.

Glass doesn’t get any dirtier than any other light fixture material.

The only reason its a PIA is because you can see the film that develops and as always glass is hard to keep streak free, so yes usually taking the glass off helps to ease the struggle. but that being said I have to take down my frosted ones to get the layer off the top too.
