No Gothic!! ;)

Hi everyone, we have just bought a beautiful victorian style black metal frame for our bed. We also intend on painting an armoire a shiny black lacquer. Our room is small: 10 x 8 and we absolutely do not want a gothic themed bedroom. How do we go about decorating it (colors, decor, window treatment, etc) to look romantic and classic. Our light fixture is a cristal chandelier. Thanks you for your upcoming ideas!!

What about using embroidered white linens for a crisp contrast? Maybe some oversized floral print pillows in super bright colors for a modern touch, think marrimekko, but not exactly that.

Why shiny black then? You need to post some pictures this is a very small room for an armoire in it at all. I would need to see the space and the bed do you not have a closet ? Is this a room for one person / Please some pictures and an actul floor plan would be good. What size is the bed.?
