Gee, I've never used DE directly on plants before. Why didn't I think of this? I use DE to treat the yard for insects. It really works well for flea infestation (the yard was infested with them when we bought it 4 years ago. Haven't had to reapply since as it is so effective). I'll have to remember about dusting plants directly with DE for other insects. You clever boy!

These bugs attacked my cantaloupe vines a couple of months ago. One application of DE and no more bug problem. If there's a drawback to using DE, I had to take special care to keep it away from the cantaloupe flowers so as not to harm the precious pollinators.

You also should wear a mask when applying as DE can damage lungs.
