I find these grow at a snail’s pace. I’m noticing that is a commonality between all my Tephros. I’ve seen faster growth on my baby Ariocarpus fissuratus than on my T. geometricus. Would be nice to have a beautiful patch like that:).

Kara, I suspect in less hot environments this particular species (and also the other one that does very well here for me, T aurticulatus var syringacanthus AKA T. paediophylla) noticeably slow their growth, but the smaller ones don't so much, or they need more water than the monsoons (so lacking here this year) give them. This species survives in two places in the yard on no supplemental water.
