It’s time to restart your string of pearls:). I find with Senecio rowleyanus aka String of Pearls they sometimes need a restart. This video is good.

The brown nubs are new roots.

The nub I circled red is a healthy new root, but not sure what’s going on in the white circle. Could just be the pic.

They also could look strange because they’re old and calloused over.

If I could give any advice with these it would be really good airflow. They can handle a decent amount of water for succulents. They need a fast draining mix. A good cheap mix is 60% rinsed/dried perlite and 40% cactus soil.

Senecio rowleyanus aka String of Pearls are actually ground cover in their natural habitat. That’s why roots form all along the strands.
