Another question, would you recommend wood dining chairs for our still undelivered dining table. Or will that be too much brown?

Those 3 rugs are so different from one another! Could you maybe browse on Houzz and post some photos of what kinds of styles you like? You have a "mid-century modern" vibe going with the furniture, so as you browse on Houzz, you might want to filter for that style.

Before making any other decisions you need lighting and lots of it A floor lamp beside the sofa by the window I would look for aan arc lamp there If you have pot lights in the ceiling make sure the bulbs are all LEDs in 4000k I love that you have made the 2 seating areas and also love your lether color That color works really well with blues BTW. One very large piece of art behind the sofa on the right. I think you could do something like these in the same space

We have limited furniture stores in the island so the furniture are from West Elm. I can order rugs online though from other sources such as Overstock.

I know but there are lots on line the bottom one is from Allmodern and the top one from THE MOST CHIC I know you have tons of awesome artists on the island so get a pice of art you just love don’t worry about it going with anything if you love it will work always. As for dining chairs I would need to see the table but I don’t find you have too much wood . Then ebnd tables need to be useful for a drink and a lamp on this end of the sofa on the right and also one between the 2 chairs Then something long and skinny for a coffee table there and in the TV spot something to put your feet on and end tables at either end of the sofa for drinks and more lamps. Something like this for the coffee table on the right side to bring the white in from the TV stand

I was thinking something either with blue tones or very minimal and buy the same rug for both areas. What do you think?

I think this space needs some pizazz and matching rugs will be boring this is an waseome space do it justice with some real thought and please get the biggest piece of art you can afford
