This has been blooming on and off all summer. I have been feeding every couple weeks with a springling of a variety of organic fertilizers. I have four fruit set on. Possibly more to come! Plant is not even in full sun, but probably gets shade from 2:00 on.

Your tree looks just like mine. I had a tree bloom over and over and started loosing leaves and then stems. I broke every flower off as soon as i could see them using tweezers so the tree did not waste to much on developing the buds. It finally gave up after 7 flowering then set on new growth. It took more than a year and a half. to replace its lost limbs. I now has 1 lemon on it. I have another tree with 3 lemons that started flowering. I tweezered the new buds off while ther were still 'microscopic' in size. It is now putting on new growth and the lemon are growing in size

This 'tree' is covered with huge green leaves. It looks very healthy. Has not lost one leaf over the summer.

If your first bloom doesn’t turn into fruit, the second will produce mediocre fruits anyway.

Get rid of the bloom, let the tree grow bigger first. I am playing around with tree’s and not always do the things I learn over time. In my case having too many tree’s, It doesn’t matter.

Got small trees with a fruit hanging from it, so what!

This is really helpful. Approaching cooler weather and my meyer lemon seems to have a lot of new blooms - probably 12 or so clusters in the last two weeks. Wondering how many blooms are too many for a 3-ft plant?

Members think it is cute to have a small tree with a bunch of fruits hanging from it. If you are a little more serious about growing stuff, you might want to reconsider.

If I tell you it is OK, no it is not OK. Having too many trees, and age, I tend to be more careless, so it’s a matter of choice.

Dave many years ago I used sunniland citrus fertilizer and it was fantastic I really miss it . I wish I could find it up here in Canada . I have seen it on websites but it would probably end up costing me $80.00 with the delivery no way .

Amy! yes, these Oroblanco flowers are the best smelling citrus blooms of my whole collection.

Dave, I have to agree with you. That is why I own one. It doesn't flower as often as yours which stinks, maybe once a year, but boy when it does, I like it better than every tree I have for fragrance.

What is your next best sweet smelling one? Do you have one I may not have?

Meyermike(Zone 6a Ma.) , not sure, maybe my Meyer, but nothing quite in comparison to this. When it was full of blooms you could smell it 12 feet away. Bees were going crazy too.

Dave, that tree is certainly happy! Mine has not bloomed like that. I winder if it’s because yours is on its own roots. My grafted one is a slow grower. And yes, the flowers are amazing!! So glad it’s so happy!

Laura, it has grown gangbusters this summer and is blooming like mad. I'm reducing the new fruits to one fruit per branch. Here are the fruits that set on earlier in summer. In fact, I've rooted a cutting from it and have sent it on to a friend! Spread the love as they say.

I’m glad it’s doing so well! I do agree with Bob though. Have you seen a full grown Oro blanco fruit? Omg they’re massive! There is no way that little tree will be able to grow those fruits. If I were you, I’d leave one. Even that is pushing it because of the weight of the fruit. I’m glad you’re enjoying it! I think I actually like the flowers more than the actual fruit - but then again, I’m not a huge fan of grapefruits ;)
