And how deep can the cabinet be? It doesn’t look like you have a lot of space for anything too deep.

It can be up to 14 inches deep.

Before I tackle your entry, I want to say I like your living room very much, but I think you should remove the middle framed art and just use the two more modern pieces side by side.

How about this Ikea floating cabinet? I just don’t want the space to feel too modern. I like some touches of traditional, as it gives it more warmth.

Yes to grover's comment about the art. First thing I noticed.

ditto what grover just said. that middle pic looks out of place. the two end pics, moved closer together would look much better.

also agree about the storage piece. doesn't seem to match your decor/design

maybe something like these examples would work better. just try to find one in a shallow dept.

I like the mirror - the shelving is a little too country looking. I would keep looking. I also agree about moving your colorful art from behind the sofa. Maybe you can fit it on the wall above your chair. The colors in it are nice.

My kids have both used the Hemnes shoe cabinet from IKEA in their front halls...looks great, very low profile...
