HELP - ENTRYWAY/FRONT PORCH NEEDS MUCH HELP

I live in a small villa and my enclosed porch (added by previous owners) is giving me a headache. It's the first thing people see when they enter. The vertical blinds cover a storage area and must stay. I do love the blinds I put in. Elliptical machine and desk will be removed. I'd like to change flooring and not sure about area rug - I lugged it home from Turkey so it holds a small place in my heart but think its dull looking. I would like to get a card table and chairs but other than that, I want to have some punch in the room but don't know how. Any ideas? Thank you!!

So I would absolutely keep the rug. I would do a cooler color on the wall like a gray green or gray blue. Get a runner to go between the doors that coordinates with your existing rug. I would add real baseboards but if you can’t just paint a 4” wide white band above what you have to fake it. Add a narrow console table with an open decorative front to hide the air conditioner. Paint the door to the house charcoal gray. I found these curtain panels that to me could mimic artwork to hide the vertical blinds. Then add a seating are there. Keep the bench and mirror as is. I don’t have photoshop so excuse my poor mockups lol.

What if you played up the Turkish parentage of the rug? Added other elements, like lamps, chair, prints. What is the purpose of the room?

Really why a card table is this where you must play games ? I think you need to share a bit more of the rest of the house. I do agree to keep the rug and use it for your color scheme.Empty out the space that is where you start , add some good lighting with LEDs in 4000K to get real color choices. Then decide what you want from the space a games room seems to me to be a bit odd in a porch but you need to provide more info and also a scaled drawing of the space showing window doors and where that storage space is. Also a floor plan of the rest of the house would be good.

Seeing the stucco, I would remove the paneling on the wall w/ the air conditioner. Replace with drywall and add skip trowel texture to mimic the stucco. Then I would paint the walls white, the door a bright turquoise and replace the flooring with a terra cotta tile.

Thank you all so much. I'm wanting to put a table and chairs (i.e card table)because as my house is now, I have to move living room furniture and drag heavy dining chairs to use with bridge table). I don't really utilize porch so figured that could save me work (just buy table and chairs) and make it more inviting - replace ugly laminate (with maybe tile). I like the idea of painting new color and adding colorful runner.

What is the measurement of this space? You can remove the vanes from the vertical blinds and replace with lightweight fabric or semi-sheers for a softer look.

area is 8 feet by 13 feet. Cannot change the verticals - too much stored behind there.

Consider a washable rug from ruggable.com Lots of colors and patterns that will really liven up your space. Pick the rug first, then use a color from it (or a lighter shade of it) for walls. If you don't want to change the floor, you could do an 8x10 snugged at the card table end of your space, and get a matching runner for the door end of the space. I used one in our Kids Kave at our vacation rental cabin and it has a pattern that would work turned either way, so it would be easy to use a pair of them even if they run different directions. www.cavecreekcabin.com
