I had a massive crabgrass infestation and I had to mulch heavily over my flower bed. I had previously planted some bulbs (crocus/daff's/etc...) underneath.

Is there any chance they will be able to push through 3-4 inches of mulch? What about if I plant new bulbs..should I leave any portion of them above the ground? Or will they be able to push through the mulch?

I worry specifically about shorter bulbs like crocus, I figure things like allium/etc... should be fine but am not sure.
