What is that tiny weird room? Does it lead somewhere? Can it be knocked down so the whole space can be opened up?

It’s not a room.... it’s a space by our front door. It’s above a bedroom. No it can’t be knocked down because it’s the ceiling of the room.

The enclosed space to the left of the front door, beneath the pyramid-like "roof" cannot be removed? It looks to me like it is just a hallway to somewhere?

No it’s not a hallway, it is the top of the bedroom below. It can’t be removed...

maybe put an art piece up there as a decoration or glass light decor just to have something up there? or even plants.. but might be a bit difficult to water it but could look nice?

What is on the other side of that wall with the outlets?

Can the entire space be *enclosed* and made into a closet or something (if there's a room on the other side of the wall that's 90* to the windows)?

It’s the outside of the house/ roof of the master bedroom. If we enclose it, you end up with a half of the middle window.... such a weird spot. It may stay empty! Ha!

tiny stage for dancing? what does the underside look like? I would box it in the height of whatever it needs to be.

I agree with Tina. Painting it the same color as the wall would help it blend in, but what would be even better would be to remove the "pyramid" so that it's just a flat surface that doesn't draw attention. Putting either a large sculptural piece on top or a large piece of art on the wall would be a nice touch.

I like the idea of painting the wall color to help blend it away...but my first thought was small horse statue for some reason...

It is the same color, I think the way the sun is shinning in it looks darker.

Amanda, I think everyone is referring to painting the "steps" or pyramid-like roof the same color as the surrounding walls.

Ah, thanks for the photo, it makes more sense now! Would you consider removing the "steps" so that the ceiling/roof to the bedroom is just smooth drywall? If not, I think I would just leave as is. The high windows are a nice feature themselves and I wouldn't want a large piece of decor to compete with those and the lovely hanging light. Perhaps you could even reuse the wood somewhere else in the house?

We have a similar space in our home. A decorator said to leave it empty since it would lead the eyes upwards, but ours is opposite a balcony overlook so we’re planning on decorating it eventually. Here’s a photo of what the decorator of the model home did. Hope it helps.

I would take out the stepped part. I think that is what draws your eye up there. Or put some decorations and leave it!
