Hmmmmm....? looks like that piece with the lip is added....the wood looks different. Is there any evidence of it being added from the underside?

Makes perfect sense to have one like that as an end table or bedside table. How often I miss landing stuff on an oval one we have!

The lower "shelf" seems to be irregular as well, or am I loking at it wrong? It's cute and weird and you must go look at it and get better photos. :)

It has to be fairly old since nobody makes stuff out of oak anymore, right?

Once you get it, have a look underneath, as I'm wondering if there was a little back rising up from that flat part so it could sit across a corner. Cute piece!

probably lots and lots of others....all make Oak furniture...not antiques..all

brand new.
